Before we move forward, you should all know that I have become an irrational Rihanna
fangirl. Not of her music, necessarily - I don't own any of her albums -
but of Rihanna as a character in the media. I love that she wears (and
generally pulls off) outrageous things, I love how well she mixes high
fashion and hip hop style, I love that she's not afraid to wear things
that will surely bring her plenty of criticism. In a pop culture
landscape full of "managed" personalities, I love that Rihanna's not
bland. Or at least she doesn't look bland, which is what we're primarily concerned with here.
We first profiled Rihanna's handbag collection a little more than a year ago, and in that time, she's been caught carrying nearly 20 additional bags that are worthy of note. Because of her current world tour, these bags have done more traveling than most people can even imagine, but somehow, Rihanna manages to pull out purse after purse, with a new bag popping up in photos seemingly every few days. Her handbag freight fees alone must be astronomical.
We'll start where Rihanna has been starting lately: with Chanel. She carried this Chanel Vanity Case
from Resort 2014 to the brand's recent couture show in Paris and spent
most of the time using it to shield her crotch from cameras. Oh,
Rihanna.
This full Chanel look, complete with a Chanel Metallic Quilted Backpack, is a little more conservative.
Rihanna's clearly one of Karl Lagerfeld's favorites lately - just check out that $10k Chanel Lego Clutch.
With her presence at the brand's show and her wardrobe suddenly full of
Chanel, might a campaign be far behind? That's usually how these things
progress with Karl.
I have suspicions that this Chanel Quilted Shoulder Bag might be vintage.
Even before Karl Lagerfeld seemed like he was in love with RiRi, she carried the brand - here's Rihanna with a Chanel Logo Tote in her home country of Barbados.
Even though this Juliette Jake Wrap Around Clutch isn't Chanel, Rihanna's still got the brand represented in her outfit.
One of my
favorite things about Rihanna is how quickly and easily her look can
change. For example, she looks like a member of TLC during the 90s with
this JOYRICH Faux Python Backpack.
On the other hand, she looks totally professional and put-together with this Dolce & Gabbana Miss Dolce Top Handle Bag.
Mostly, Rihanna's in the middle, like with this Givenchy Antigona Madone Clutch. (We think it might be the one that comes with the tote.)
The basis of my theory about the smaller Givenchy clutch is that Rihanna also has the big Givenchy Antigona Madone Tote.
To round out her recent Givenchy pieces, Rihanna also has a baby pink Givenchy Lucrezia Satchel.
Black and white is a huge trend right now, so naturally, Rihanna is on it with an all-black outfit and a white Prada Mini Saffiano Lux Tote Bag.
Sometimes, admittedly, Rihanna's outfits don't make all that much sense, like this crop-top sweatshirt and her Gucci USA Flag Collection Boston Bag.
Other times, the outfit makes perfect sense, like the hologram sequin top she paired with this Stella McCartney Holographic Clutch.
In an Adidas sweatshirt and Pierre Hardy Leopard Suede Backpack, Rihanna looks a bit like an ultra-chic college coed.
Perhaps
unsurprisingly, Rihanna carries her fair share of Alexander Wang - his
mix of high fashion and streetwear fits her style perfectly. We caught
her carrying a pebble-textured Alexander Wang Rocco Duffel last time around, and now she has the smooth leather version as well.
That's a little Alexander Wang Pelican Sling Snakeskin Crossbody Bag, I do believe.
We've documented just how much Rihanna loves her Celine Trio Roll Clutch in the past, but it's worth reiterating. We're
rounding out this roundup with an unknown - is this another Celine
clutch? Something different? With the simple shape and natural python
material, it's hard to say. Check out that skin-tight velvet Alaia
bodysuit, though. We first profiled Rihanna's handbag collection a little more than a year ago, and in that time, she's been caught carrying nearly 20 additional bags that are worthy of note.
